Southern Methodist University

I received a bachelor's of science degree in computer engineering with a focus on software plus a minor in mathematics in December, 2006.

Because I was still skating competitively in Plano, I applied to only two schools: the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) and Southern Methodist University (SMU). I was accepted to both, but decided to attend SMU despite the scholarship only covering about 85% of the costs.

When my competitive skating was put on hold, I decided to finish up my degree as quickly as possible, so I ended up taking more than the maximum courseload for fall and winter semesters plus a full courseload in the summer. I ended up finishing in 3.5 years. Much thanks is owed to my advisor, Mark Fontenot, for helping me graduate early.
