Proteome Commons

A public repository for digital content relating to proteomics and a foundation for an online scientific community. It provides researchers with access to and the ability to share proteomics-related web logs, tools, publications, news, links, and data through a Tranche distributed repository.

Built using JSP on an Apache Tomcat web server and a MySQL database. Includes Java object caching to reduce the number of MySQL database calls. Ajax interactivity based on an expanded version of the Mini Ajax Library. Determines visitor location using MaxMind Geo Lite City. The clean URLs are thanks to the URL Rewrite Filter. The audience is tracked using Google Analytics.
